On September 7, 2023, Partnership for Transparency (PTF) Communications Director Jillian Hess gave a presentation to a group of professionals visiting from Central and Eastern Europe during a training session in the Open Gov Hub. She gave an overview of PTF.
In addition, Jillian provided information on the PTF projects on Increasing the Integrity of Public Procurement in Moldova (in collaboration with Institute for Development and Social Initiatives (IDIS) Viitorul) and Promoting and Monitoring Integrity in Humanitarian Aid Management in Ukraine (in partnership with Committee of voters of Ukraine (CVU) Odesa and the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN)), as well as the planned Reducing Corruption Risks During Reconstruction in Ukraine project.
The training session, which was run by Izabela Chmielewska (Global Integrity Program Manager), was part of the Professional Fellows Program of the U.S. Department of State supported by American Councils for International Education.
The participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus (based in Poland), Georgia, Moldova, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine were mid-level emerging leaders representing business councils, international NGOs, local civil society organizations, municipal and national government agencies, post-secondary education institutions, and UN agencies.
