PTF Project Map

With funding from PTF, TI-Latvia is monitoring the construction of the National Library of Latvia (NLL).

Common proposals from within the region focus on: increasing accountability of local institutions and the involvement of civil society (including monitoring of public procurement), supporting integrity pacts, and enhancing investigative reporting.

Overall project implementation performance in the region has been highly satisfactory. Those delays that have occurred are typically outside the control of PTF grant recipients e.g. delays in enacting new legislation promoted by partner CSOs and prolonged stakeholder reviews of their reports/findings. These results reflect the strength of PTF’s grantees as well as the careful review of project proposals by PTF’s Project Advisers and their close relationship with their clients. The policy of PTF funding follow-up projects for high performing CSOs is clearly also paying dividends. Going forward, PTF will try to promote a more systematic exchange of lessons of experience among partners in the region as well as encouraging technical cross support between them.
